10 Strange Paranormal Powers and Phenomena – Part 3

Part 3 – Helsby Hill Window Area

A window area or region is a place where paranormal and unexplained phenomena happens much more often than chance should dictate, the idea of these areas was first brought up by John Keel in the mid-1960s. Keel was an American journalist, UFOlogist and avid researcher of the paranormal and unexplained who also wrote the Mothman Prophecies.

One of the world’s most well-known window areas is that of the Bermuda Triangle where many planes and ships have met their fate under unusual and baffling circumstances and many others have described their navigational equipment and mechanics going haywire, on top of it being a UFO hotspot.

Another lesser known window area can be found in the UK, north Cheshire surrounding Helsby Hill, prominently in an area near the south of Runcorn and Warrington, near Daresbury and Preston Brook. In this area you may be fooled by the characterized serene rolling fields and the River Weaver and the estuary of the River Mersey, making it look like a nice peaceful and quiet area. But this place has had an unusual amount of unexplained and unusual phenomena and events.

The area has been noted for outbreaks of poltergeist activity and legend claims it was brought about by a dragon released in the area long ago. Other unusual events include unexplained vehicle teleportation, particularly around Preston Brook, such a case includes a motorcyclist driving north towards Daresbury late at night when suddenly he was enveloped by a bright light from above, the motorcyclist pulled over on a bend and the next thing he knew he had appeared some miles away, near Chester, with no clue how.

Another remarkable incident was allegedly witnessed by four poachers beside the River Weaver in January 1978, where they described watching little entities emerge from a bell-like object and attempt to put immobilized cattle into a big cage.

The place has also been known for monster sightings, alien abductions, unexplained noises in the night, strange lights in the sky as well as crop circles! It appears to be a place of absolute wonder, and interestingly in the village of Daresbury was the original home of Reverend Charles Dodgson, also known by his pen name Lewis Carrol, who was the author of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
