Our vast Earth is full of strange mysteries and observed phenomena of an unsolved nature and here I am focusing on things to do with forces and powers of the unknown, some of which are scary and others of which are fascinating and peek up our interest in awe. Here I present a 10-part series of Strange Paranormal Powers and Phenomena.
Part 1 – Leys
Many people often call Leys, Ley Lines, but when you look more into it that doesn’t make sense as Ley means line so you’re practically saying Line Lines. Anyway, people argue that prominent historical structures such as churches, burial mounds, standing stones, wells and landmarks are strangely in alignment with each other, dubbed as Leys, with mass debate as to why this is.
It is most prominent in the United Kingdom where the theory was brought to light by a man called Alfred Watkins in the early 1920s after he began noticing strange alignment oddities with a bunch of local historical sites in and around Blackwardine. Watkins didn’t attribute it though to anything to do with ancient energies or with a connection to the paranormal, but he did believe they were a prehistoric system of tracks and trading routes. He made a slideshow and wrote a book on it called Early British Trackways, but it wasn’t until his 1925 book The Old Straight Track where the theory exploded into public light.
This spawned a phenomenon of people called Ley Hunters starting to look and map out connections between historical sites such as Stone Henge.
Since then it has been picked up by other parts of the world through similar theories. People still argue that these alignments could have been former historical tracks between these sites while other new theories say that ancient civilizations knew more about the Earth and by using knowledge we have since lost, they built historical landmarks along the Leys which hold electromagnetic energy, associated with paranormal phenomena, that we may even be able to utilize ourselves.
Believers in this unknown energy say that it could explain the meaning behind some historical sites of which we are unsure of the purpose for. People have also reported experiencing tingling and vibration-like sensations from simply touching the rocks at these ancient sites as well as the experience of unusual phenomena. Further, scientific investigations at these sites using microwave, ultrasound and other monitoring technologies have recorded evidence of energies locked up in the rocks that seem to release in sudden bursts.
