There is nothing wrong with giving something a go for the first time and a stress toy is one of those. They can simply be something that sits near within arm’s reach for those times you need something to fiddle around with to keep yourself calm or just to relax or even to help you concentrate and ponder on things.

They can really help many people but you also may have to experiment a bit to get the one that suits you. Maybe you like to squish and squeeze things in your hand? That’s certainly the case for me as it can be very satisfying due to the soft and smooth qualities of such products, these things can include stress balls or little molded toys, some even contain liquids that can be satisfying to look at, just be careful not to be too rigorous with those ones though, lest you get the formula on your hands, like I once did long ago. That kind of defeats the purpose and stresses you out more.
So, if like me you have a strong grip or are not super conscious of your strength, which can be very prominent when annoyed or stressed, then just a simple foam squishy toy is the recommended path. I recently for Christmas received a very soft, smooth and squishy burger toy from my cousin for Christmas that I currently have on my computer desk staring at me.
But maybe you instead prefer to be more fiddley while stressed out. Things such as a fidget spinner can help or if that seems too absurd for your liking there are specially designed fidget cubes that include a myriad of mechanics on each side to fiddle with, which can be quite satisfying and stress-reducing. I used to have one myself but I unfortunately lost it, must have fell out of my pocket somewhere. So, make sure to be careful on that side of things with stress toys as they can be small and easy to lose!
You could also even simply buy some magnetic balls to fiddle around with, marbles can also work. Maybe you can even tap them lightly together to reduce stress. Maybe even get two light and small wooden blocks for this purpose to.
There are many things to choose from. So, if you feel like you need something to keep you calm and relaxed during your hard day’s work or your studies or even if you have problems with anxiety and/or panic attacks, stress toys are certainly something that should be considered.
