I had a goal of being moved into my new place by today but due to circumstances that was clearly very optimistic a goal, there is still much that needs to be done. There are some things that have been done though, our beds have been built and the carpets are down, the gas is uncapped, and we have successfully obtained full Housing benefit covering the whole rent. But there is lots more that needs to be done.
We need to build the chester draws and also the wardrobes still, and we also need to put in the washing machine, hopefully this time we can buy the right size jubilee clip, otherwise the washing machine would have already been fitted by now. We also still need to get an electrician to put the oven in as well. The fridge freezer will also be coming on the 10th hopefully without issue.
Today the Smart meter for the gas and electric was meant to be installed but that has now faced a set-back due to the current meters in the house being outdated and therefore inconpatible with the Smart meter, so they will need to come back to do a larger install, so that will be more time passed before we can properly move in unfortunately. We also still need to get the Internet set up there at some point. So far everytime I have gone up there I have downloaded some podcasts to listen to, as of now that is Timesuck with Dan Cummins, which covers infinite interesting topics.
Another thing that needs doing is to also sort out my brother’s Universal Credit, which is the most complex benefit to sort out, all of the others were far more easier, but I guess since UC has been made to replace so many other benefits, it is more complicated to get sorted, hoping to get that done this week.
So for now that is where we are at, I am also still studying through the Google IT Course as well, which is also taking up a lot of my time, so unfortunately I have not been able to do any usual blog posts for this blog at the moment, but once I have more time I will return to doing that.
So that is just a quick update of where I am at right now, the progress is not as fast as I would like, there is still much to do, but we are slowly, slowly edging towards the end goal of moving into the new place, I guess the earliest we will be moved in is around mid-September at this point. And even when the place is ready to be moved in to, that does not mean everything will be ready, it just means it will be possible to live in the flat without issue (AKA, water, heating, electricity, internet, and carpets down and the essential appliances to store, cook and make food.)
