10 Strange Paranormal Powers and Phenomena – Part 6 – Unexplained Animal Mutilations and Slaughters

Public Domain.

Unexplained animal mutilations tend to run on a common theme, often that they are done with extreme, almost unnatural surgical precision, and that they often happen during the night and that it can also be common for a spate to happen within a given area one first occurs. A lot of the time every drop of blood has been drained from the animals, which can include chickens, cattle and even horses!

They can be either a singular animal or dozens or even hundreds of the same animal in one place seemingly overnight, no meat missing, just effortless and precise cuts and draining of all blood or killing from exposed areas, like the neck, often organs or the genitals can be missing. It is as if whatever or whoever does it, does so because they enjoy it rather than getting any actual benefit from it. Many things have been blamed such as rogue pets, wild animal attacks, non-native more exotic animals alleged to be roaming the area, such as Alien Big Cats, psychopathic people, occultists, cryptids such as the legendary Chupacabra, paranormal entities, government conspiracies and of course aliens from outer space.

But of course, many of these characteristic animal mutilations remain unexplained due to the unusual nature of the mutilation.

One such bizarre case of unexplained animal mutilation happened in Lincolnshire, Binbrook near Market Rasen in the United Kingdom, this area had been known for a number of poltergeist incidents, such as objects being thrown and even some cases of spontaneous combustion. On January of 1905 a major mutilation of 226 chickens happened over the course of several nights at a Binbrook farm, even on a number of the nights where the farmer was guarding outside the henhouse.

The chickens were all killed from skin being torn around the neck and the windpipe being snapped.

Another strange case was that of Snippy the horse in the US state of Colorado, San Luis Valley, the horse in question was actually called Lady and another horse it was stabled with was called Snippy, but media reports had mixed the two names up, with the mutilated horse being called Snippy ever since. This incident would bring animal mutilations to national attention.

It happened on 8th September 1967, the horse had gone missing from the ranch and was later found with its head and neck stripped of skin, internal organs missing and drained of blood. Cuts were also described as surgical precision.

After this incident, animal mutilations were brought to international attention many more were recorded throughout the 1970s and beyond across the United States, pretty much all cases were that of all blood being drained and organs and genitals removed with surgical precision, some of the surgery on the mutilations were described as so good that even veterinarians at Oklahoma State University stated they would be unable to produce students capable of performing such mutilations.

Another case from the United Kingdom, near Ballymoney, North Antrim, Northern Ireland occurred in January 1985 when 44 Ewes that all belonged to one farm were slaughtered over the course of a week, all with puncture wounds to the neck and no further mauling or other injuries. Dogs had been ruled out as there was no evidence of panic among the animals, with it being described as if the animals had just simply laid down and allowed themselves to be killed.

One incident of animal mutilation occurred on 29th December 1990 in Japan, near Saga Prefecture. A farmer was woken up by the frantic barking of his dog, the farmer ignored the continued barking of the dog. Later on, at 6am in the morning the farmer discovered the corpse of a 12-month-old cow that had been mutilated in its cowshed. Once again strange features were present, half the tongue was missing, four nipples had been cored out from the udders and there was no evidence that the animal put up a struggle.

Two years later on 4th January 1992, on the same farm another incident occurred, with the dog barking again, this time the farmer got up to check what was going on. The farmer went into the cowshed and alleged to see a small white object that looked like a jellyfish, floating in the air above an injured cow, the white object drifted away and vanished, the cow had a badly broken leg.

So just what in the heck is going on? Is it all simply just wild animal attacks, rogue pets and weirdos? Or is there something bigger going on? I will certainly come back to this subject as there is much more to be said and many more bizarre cases to take a look at.
